This Minnesota band is making big waves across North America with its wholesome, organic sound. Lucy Michelle and The Velvet Lapelles is on our fav list with tour stops beginning January 9th in Hollywood, California, along with several west coast gigs to kick off 2013. Their latest album “HEAT” has energizing tracks so hot, it helps melt the Minnesota snow… Unless you happen to live in the tropics, where the mercury just continues to rise. Twitter News of the Day: Twitter announced that the opening ceremony of the London Olympics resulted in more than 9.66 million games-related tweets, which is more than the entire Beijing Olympics in 2008. To be fair, the social networking giant was in its infancy back then, but the massive growth means it’s safe to say this Twitter phenomenon might have some staying power.
