San Francisco’s Benny Gold has joined forces with backpack extraordinaire JanSport and apparel company Pendleton, collaborating on an exclusive collection highlighting what the these brands do best. The images above were captured entirely in the Bay Area, and highlight the Compadre, Adobe and Oswego backpacks, as well as stylish laptop and tablet sleeves, each adorned with Pendleton’s distinctive graphic design. Expect this bad ass collection to launch this fall at Benny Gold’s San Francisco outlet.

Today our friends at Forbes magazine reported Google is providing FREE wireless to Manhattan and the upscale Chelsea neighborhood. It’s a first for New York and the first free urban Wi-Fi network. One might think this is a noble gesture, but then again Google does have over 3,000 employees in these neighborhoods. Yet another reason to stay connected in the Big Apple.

Just landed - Galileo, a vatting of different styles of Ardbeg put to rest in 1999, is a combination of spirits that have been matured in ex-Marsala wine casks or in ex-bourbon casks. Together they create a sweet, smokey whiskey. The few thousand cases of the 12 year old whiskey made available are being picked up quickly and the space experiment that it was named after is going strong. Invited by US Space Research Company, NanoRacks LLC, Ardbeg has been taking place in an experiment to test micro organic compounds in a maturation experiment since 2011. Perfect for your New Year’s Eve party!
