Making Babies is a Civic Duty
Singapore has a history of population issues. In 1965 growth was going along at such a clip the government instituted the “Stop at Two” campaign.
“Stop at Two” was such a success that in 1986 the slogan switched to “three or more, if you can afford it.” It is estimated that 1 in five Singapore residents will be over 65 by 2030.
To promote the baby making Singapore offers substantial tax rebates to families having their fourth child. The City state also teamed up with Mentos to create the above video and encourage getting it on in the name of civic duty.
